Biden Admin: K-12 Schools Must Put Boys in Girls’ Bathrooms to Get Federal Lunch Money
The Biden administration plans to withhold funding for school lunches from schools that protect students’ privacy and safety with single-sex facilities. As Joy Pullmann reports at The Federalist, “establishments that accept any federal food funding, including food stamps, must . . . allow males who claim to be female to access female private spaces, such as showers, bathrooms, and sleeping areas. Such organizations must also follow protocols such as requiring staff to use inaccurate pronouns to describe transgender people and allowing male staff to dress as women while on the job.” And this won’t affect only public schools — many private, including Christian, schools participate in the federal school-lunch program and may lose that funding if they’re not willing to violate their beliefs and endanger their students. (There’s talk of some sort of religious exemption, but don’t count on it. Of course, no public school system would get such an exemption even if it exists on paper.)
Any Republican running for Congress should pledge to overturn this contemptible rule before it does serious damage. In the meantime, all school systems should prepare to wean themselves off federal money. It’s not worth it.
